This is the proposal for energy efficiency promotion in Latin American and Caribbean countries presented by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) in a Seminar titled " Energy Efficiency: Succesful experiences and regulatory contributions " carried out in Santiago, Chile in July 19-20, 2005 and organized by ECLAC, the Program Sustainable Chile and The Ministry of Economy and Energy, Chile.
The Seminar was sponsored by the Heinrich Boell Foundation and their goal was to present models and experiences on energy efficiency carried out in Latin America and Chile, in the context of public programs and voluntary programs in crisis situations. Furthermore, proposals and learning processes that might contribute to the recent Chilean Program "Country of Energy Efficiency" were analyzed.
