| Modelling Air Emissions for Compliance
Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, November 24-26, 2003
DESCRIPTION
The assessment of on and off property impact of pollutants is usually handled by means of transport and dispersion models. These models continue to become more complex as the accuracy with which they can simulate pollutant impact increases. Increasingly regulators are looking to newer models to simulate impacts for use in the Approvals process and in the assessment of incident risk. This seminar uses a hands-on approach to look at the newest family of environmental models. The approach will be very practical and will include a number of case studies and a hands-on approach to the models.
OBJECTIVE
The attendee will become familiar with the basics of air dispersion and transport modelling and will be able to set up and use screening and refined models for permit applications as well as incident risk assessment.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Professionals working in the areas of the assessment and prediction of air pollution impact. This includes industrial facility or utility environmental management and technical staff, as well as consultants, lawyers and regulators. Numbers will be restricted to allow each participant access to a computer for the laboratory sessions.
