Effective environmental monitoring and sampling

Mississauga, ON, Canada, May 26-28, 2003

DESCRIPTION
Environmental investigation invariably requires sampling, testing and analysis. Environmental sampling which involves: collection, processing and handling is of key importance. To obtain usable and legally defensible data, you need the "how to" knowledge which is the focus of this seminar. You learn up-front planning for quality sampling using data quality objectives in sampling design decisions. This will enable you to avoid wasting valuable time and money during environmental investigations.

OBJECTIVE
To assist participants in reducing uncertainty in a sampling program by explaining standard procedures and guidelines for sampling of environmental media.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Environmental scientists and engineers who are involved in the design and implementation of environmental investigations involving sampling of soil, sediment, water and air for chemical analysis. This course will be especially valuable to persons with little or no experience in environmental sampling who would like to learn standard procedures for collecting and handling samples. Civil and chemical engineers in consulting companies, environmental departments of industries, utilities, health and safety and public works departments of municipalities. Lawyers will also benefit from this course.
