VIII International Conference on Clean Technologies for the World Mining Industry 2008, VIII CTWMI 2008

13-16 Abril 2008, Santiago, Chile,

The Organizing Committee is pleased to invite professionals and researchers from industry, academia and technological centers, looking for new processes less contaminant for the metallurgical and mining industry, to attend the VIII International Conference on Clean Technologies for the World Mining Industry 2008, VIII CTWMI 2008, to be held from April 13 to 16, 2008 in Santiago, Chile, during EXPOMIN 2008, www.expomin.cl

PAST CONFERENCES

The history of International Conferences on Clean Technologies for the World Mining Industry (www.ctwmi.com) begins in 1992 (March 23rd to 25th) organized by the University of Concepcion, Chile. Since then is carried out every two years.

The 1992 and 1994 conferences, held in Concepcion, were developed under the restricted title of “Clean Technologies for the Copper Industry”, while in 1996 the International Advisory Committee expanded it to “Clean Technologies for the Mining Industry”, and the conference began to be carried out during the EXPOMIN activities, the International Mining Exhibition organized by FISA S.A., in Santiago, Chile, except in 2006 when it was placed in Buzios, Brazil, in order to expand their topics abroad. Thus, The VIII CTWMI 2008 Conference will be held in its natural site: EXPOMIN (www.expomin.cl).

These events have been characterized by important participation of foreign and native professionals linked to mining and metallurgical industry, looking for new processes less contaminant for this sector. Participants from industry, universities and research centers are welcome.
